From the idea to realization
Originally plans were made to put up large-scale photographs of historic interest at different points in the town for the 800-year celebrations of Jork and Borstel in 2021. Then a team of full-time and voluntary persons took up the idea that a permanent outdoor exhibition be set up, as a round trip through Jork.
From this idea a concept evolved, and now there are 25 boards at different places of interest in the town. Photographs and QR codes give explanations in German and English, while the boards are placed so that the difference between the past and the present is readily seen. The additional information helps to underpin these impressions.
The tour will take you two to three hours, depending on whether you do the full tour, just part or take short cuts.
